JUNE/JULY 2004
Throughout June and July 2004 GrooveJoint will be
finishing up their very first Album/Demo at Pig Pen Studios in Athens,
GA
Daniel Collins will be engineering/co-producing the album with GrooveJoint. Daniel is also known for producing Hip-Hop entertainer Ishues and Rock group hey, revolution. Daniel also worked with David and Jonathan of GrooveJoint when they recorded some acoustic songs in the fall of 2003. (Check out the Music Page for these songs.)
Here are some thoughts from the band:
"We are all super excited about recording this album. There is no other city that I would rather record in than our hometown of Athens. Pig Pen is a very comfortable place to record and it always feels like my living room when I walk in the sound booth. Daniel is a great producer who is open-minded to our new style of music and is very laid back when it comes to experimenting. Jonathan and I recorded six rough acoustic songs back in the fall of 2003. They were basically just some ideas and a stark departure from the complexity of most GrooveJoint songs. Daniel and Pig Pen Studios were great then and I'm sure he'll be blown away when he hears the entire band. The album should arrive in the independent music shops in September of 2004 and the songs will be able to be downloaded off our web site for free! I hope everyone enjoys them."
Good Vibes to All,
-David
"These songs will represent some of our best songs that we have written. We have many new songs that we would like to showcase but decided to narrow it down to a few new ones and a few classics of ours. We decided to go with quality over quantity so this will be kind of like a long demo or a short album, probably between six to eight songs."
-Jonathan
